Akessons – Dark Milk
Made in London and a bronze winner of the 2016 academy of chocolate awards this blend is both delicious and creamy! Similar to the dark milk blends you buy at the supermarket, but with a much deeper and luscious flavour profile. This one was a winner for me
Metiisto – Black Post Milk
Representing Australia & proudly made in Toowoomba QLD this chocolate is super creamy and divine. Its my number one pick from this box, which makes me happy as an Aussie! It totally as some deep flavours and an appealing mouth feel, while still maintaining its dark rich taste.
Dick Taylor – Brown Butter & Nibs
This blend is made in California USA with cocoa sourced from Madagascar and Brazil. Its beautiful to look at with an intricate pattern, and coated with shaved cocoa nibs and sea salt on the back side. Personally I liked the flavour and crunch of this bar, but the salt was so overwhelming! Left me squeezing up my face like id just eaten a lemon, and I was thirsty for hours after. Such a pity
Soul Chocolate – Madagascar
With Cocoa sourced from Madagascar and handmade in Toronto Canada by Kate & Kyle, This was probably my least favourite of the bunch, it tasted very strong in dark chocolate flavour. It had almost no sugary sweet taste, and tasted like a stevia sweetened option to me. Probably not worth the calories!
Soul Chocolate – Single Origins Dark
Another chocolatey batch from Kate & Kyle in Canada. This one was much nicer than the previous one, with a rich almost alcohol like flavours. Definitely something for the mature palette.
Overall thoughts?
Talk about chocolate heaven! What more could a chocolate addict want that your own box of premium chocolates delivered to your door! We requested the milk chocolate box and honestly I feel like there wasn’t much milk involved in the process. The chocolates felt more like dark blends, but lucky for me I still enjoy some dark chocolate. The range and designs of these beauties was beyond amazing! From all over the globe, and with the most intricate designs I’ve ever seen on a bar of chocolate.
The price is founded in my opinion, being that these bars are imported specially for your tasting pleasure!
